Community Involvement
Wings of Opportunity is an initiative started by the Sigma Alpha Chapter of Alpha Eta Rho to give back to its local community by providing a day of aviation exposure to underserved high school students in Brevard County.
Through outreach, education, facilities tours, and free discovery flights, participants are exposed to the life of an aviator, an opportunity they may not otherwise receive.
Outreach
Many young individuals may not know they can attend college to become a pilot. Our chapter actively speaks with students throughout our community to educate them on career paths within the aviation industry.
Education
Alpha Eta Rho alumni can be found across the globe at every airline, Fortune 50 corporation, corporate flight departments, NASA, and much more. We're honored to introduce them to many of our Wings of Opportunity participants.
Inspiration
Flying an airplane is an incredible feat, and when you attend a Wings of Opportunity event, you get a chance to do just that. All students have the opportunity to get behind the controls of one of Florida Tech's training airplanes and take to the skies with an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor.
